Plan

The Gantt Chart below depicts the information about the different stages to follow while working on a long term project. I have clearly highlighted, how the workflow was managed along with the time taken to complete it until the end of the project.

Project Planning for CCTV Installation:

Before initiating any project, several attributes are taken into consideration. Therefore, I did some online research to understand the flowchart and the steps followed in the execution of projects by the organizations related to CCTV (IP) Security. Below is the hierarchy of the steps involved followed by a flow chart for layman understanding:

S. No.Steps of Project PlanningDescription
1
Understanding the requirement
As every individual have their own requirement and purposes behind installing cameras, the first stage is to understand it by communicating with the end users and then creating a blueprint of how things will be implemented and the project will be executed.
2Assigning a visit (If required) A supervisor or a technician is then sent to the project site where he, based upon his experience can suggest the critical points where chances of   trespassing is maximum and also suggest the locations for the cameras to be installed, to provide maximum coverage and hence, barring any possible theft.
3Designing Solution After site visit the supervisor then designs all the possible solutions and choose the best among them by cross-checking if the requirement of the customer is being fulfilled. And finally, create a quotation for the end-user by briefing them about the estimated cost for the whole project
4Negotiations The customer then checks his budget and do certain negotiations with the vendor to bring the cost of the project into his reach and finally give a green signal to execute the project.
5Execution
In this phase, the vendor allocate a team of technicians for project realization and then send them over to the site with all the products specified in the solution and installation and commission of the cameras get started, while complying with the guidelines given by both supervisor and client.
6 Site Handover
Finally, a brief overview of all the installed system is given to the customer. Along with this, he is explained how to check the views of the cameras on the local or remote network via different software or mobile applications. He is also asked to set up a password of the whole system and advice him not to share it with any outsider by assuring 100% safety of the consumer.

Project Execution:

In this project I am using two-way security to keep the home safe.

Firstly, I am using Fingerprint-based access controller to provide access only to the authorized person by using the fingerprint, I can also use any RFID Card or Password or a combination of two or more inputs to provide access to the house. It can be used at the entrance of the house or at any place which requires more security such as safe based upon the requirement of the householder. Materials I am using for this are as follows:

 S. No Products Make Description Qty
 1Biometric MachineRealtimeFingerprint-based biometric access reader  1
 2EM Lock Electromagnetic Lock  1
3 Push to Exit Push to Exit Switch 1
 4 Cable 2 Core Co-axial Cable 10 Mtr

Still if the intruder manages to enter the house through any window or using any means then also the image will be captured in CCTV installed at the residence. If that person again tries to temper the NVR, then still the snapshots of that place will be sent to the assigned Email ID within the NVR and the identity of the intruder can be easily found. For executing the next step of my project that is of CCTV, I am using the following materials:

 S. No Products Make Description Qty
1IP Dome CameraDahuaInternet Protocol Based Indoor Camera 1.3 MP  1
2NVRHikvision4 Channel Network Video Recorder 1
3 SwitchAdvik 4 Port Power over Ethernet Switch 1
 4 RouterTenda Router1
5 HDD Toshiba 500 GB Hard Disk Drive for Recording 1
 6 Cable D-Link CAT 6 Network Cable 25 Mtr
